Nolan Munce, an educator dedicated to child freedom and potential, is also a father and a lifelong advocate for the empowerment of children. After more than a decade of teaching in public, private, and international schools, he founded Liberté, aiming to create the kind of children's education community he wished had existed for his own family. Currently, Nolan is pursuing a PhD in Education at DePaul University, where his focus is on value creation and global citizenship.
Joining him in this mission is his mother, Susan. As a mother of four and grandmother of three, Susan has decades of experience in raising children and fostering welcoming spaces for families. Known for her calm presence, fairness, and genuine care, she helps make Liberté feel more like a second home than just a program.

For more than a decade, Nolan has worked with children as a teacher, tutor, and educational entrepreneur, deeply committed to fostering child freedom and potential. His experience spans public schools, private schools, international schools, and alternative education, during which he built a thriving enrichment and tutoring company that supported hundreds of families within our children's education community. Throughout this journey, he encountered extraordinary children who struggled—not due to a lack of curiosity or ability, but because they lacked time, freedom, and community. When his own son reached school age, he found himself searching for a place that reflected the values he believed every child deserved. Unable to find it, Nolan and his mother decided to create it together, inspired by Nolan’s work as an educator.

Our mission is to cultivate a community that supports child freedom and potential, where children are trusted, respected, and encouraged to pursue meaningful lives through play, projects, relationships, and the interests that inspire them. We believe that children's education community thrives when children engage in real experiences, form authentic relationships, and participate meaningfully in community life. Instead of directing every moment, we strive to create an environment where curiosity, responsibility, and compassion develop naturally through freedom, mutual respect, and consent.
